Before you engage in search of a job, you need to have clearly identified the activity you intend to perform. Your professional target is a compromise between what you want to do and what you can do and what companies are you looking for.
Identify what you want to do
What are your skills, qualities, centers of interest? What are your priorities of professional activity: proximity of residence, fixed schedule, salary, responsibilities, independence...? Considering this information, which are the directions of employment may answer your aspirations?
Exploit what you already know to do
You have already experience in work, but the disability will not allow you to exercise your profession any more. What you know to do is not lost. Certainly the skills you have developed may be transferable to other professions and other sectors. Today for example, companies that sell home improvement products are interested on the skills of those who worked in construction and who know very well their products and techniques.
When you identified a professional project scenario, inform yourself on the needs and competencies that companies expect: which are the companies that recruit in the sector identified by you, which are the most popular professions? Your current skills need to be improved?
